Telecom New Zealand is working in close partnership with Barnardos through the provision of leading technology and communication services at favourable prices. They have also been very generous in their support of a wide range of activities. This includes significant financial and operational assistance to '0800 What's Up,' a telephone counselling service for children and young children seeking advice. 

 

In keeping with its commitment to social responsibility, Boehringer Ingelheim is proud to partner with Barnardos. Their generous support is enabling Barnardos to distribute material to support domestic violence programmes around New Zealand.

Boehringer Ingelheim staff are also volunteering their time to Barnardos. In July 2012 the staff volunteered their time for the day to help at one of our residential homes, where they replanted the entire garden and relined and painted the garage which is now being used as a gym facility. This has added enormously to the environment of the centre where young people can enjoy the beautiful garden as well as have a gym workout indoors when its raining in winter time.

Microsoft

In 2009 Microsoft gave a very generous donation of software to Barnardos New Zealand with a value of $1.4 million. Some of the software was used to change our underlying systems and infrastructure ready to support new specialist applications in the future.

The rest of it is being used to give us a modern telecommunication system, allowing us to keep all our staff and services connected when working in the community while minimising costs. Technology has an important role to play in increasing effectiveness in the non-profit sector and the delivery of core community services.

Barnardos is also supported throughout the country by many other businesses and individuals who help us to provide services to at risk and disadvantaged children.
