Barnardos could not have survived for so long without the wonderful help
supporters who have left us a legacy or a bequest.
When something happens to a family the children need to be safe and cared for. With the help
of bequests and donations we will be able to
Help children in crisis
Work with abused and neglected children
Train foster parents and find homes for children who need them
Help adolescents develop youth skills
Make sure children can have safe and supervised visits with non-custodial parents
Run specialist group homes
Teach parenting and household management skills
Provide safe and happy childcare for children whose parents are working, studying, needing time-out
or are experiencing difficulties
We use bequest money to make sure children can grow up to be caring
people and quality parents.

To make or update an existing Will, contact a solicitor, trustee company or public trustee and let them know
that you want to leave a bequest to Barnardos New Zealand. The following standard wording may be useful:
"I give to Barnardos New Zealand for the general (or specific)
purposes of Barnardos New Zealand the residue of my estate
(or the sum of $……………..) and I declare that the receipt of a
proper officer of Barnardos New Zealand shall be a full and
sufficient discharge to my trustees".
