Foster Care

At Barnardos, we believe that caring for children is the most important job there is – and while fostering can be very demanding, it is also hugely rewarding.

Foster families play an essential role by providing caring homes for children and young people whose circumstances make it impossible for them to be with their own family. Our foster parents say that it is the little things – a smile, a few words or simply seeing the joy in a child’s eyes – that are the true rewards of fostering.

Our service specialises in the recruitment of families who are able to care for children and young people on a permanent, long term or short term basis. We primarily recruit caregivers in the wider Auckland region.
